I Just Want To Be Happy

How many times have you said “I just want to be happy”?

How many times have you heard other people say it?

Lots of times I’ll bet.

It seems to me that most people don’t want much, they don’t ask for the world, they just want to be happy, and here’s the thing:

Being happy is simple, all you need to do is remove the things from your life that make you unhappy.

Now ok, I know what you're thinking, removing the things from you life that make you unhappy is the tricky part, I get that, especially for example if it’s your job that makes you unhappy and you need to work to pay the bills, or it’s a family member that makes you unhappy and you can’t get away from them.

But clarity is key, if you really just give yourself the gift of 15- 20 mins to look at the things that suck the joy from your life and make you unhappy, then you can start to make plans to change them.

"Slow change is always better than no change"

Without really looking at the things that are causing us pain in our lives it’s so easy to get stuck and go around and around on the merry-go-round of life without things ever changing.

Here’s my challenge to you this week, once you have written your list, pick one thing, (start with the easiest first) and give yourself a time limit to get rid of that thing/situation or to change that thing/situation in your life so that it doesn’t cause you as much unhappiness.

Doing this is like a snowball effect, once you replace one thing, your energy notches up a level and as your energy notches up so do the good things that come to you, remember at all times your energy is attracting to you the things, people and situations in your life.

So the happier you feel, the more things to be happier about will be attracted to you, good old ‘Law of Attraction’ at work.

So let me give you a quick example:

You hate the ironing and it makes your miserable it sucks the joy from your life and you see it as a time waster because there are so many other things that you would like to be doing instead, you would like to travel, go visit other countries and not be stuck in the kitchen ironing hankies ;)

So how about choosing the country you next want to visit, treat yourself to a language course and while you are ironing, learn the new language. Ironing would then become a pleasure because not only are you getting it done, but you are also taking an action step in the direction that you actually want to go in without wasting any more time, it’s a win/win and you know how I like those!

Perhaps you could treat your feet to a nice foot soak at the same time you are ironing. You see, once you start getting creative, ideas will flow and the things that once made you unhappy suddenly change and you start to head in the direction in life that you want to go.

The idea with this is to start small because as your energy notches up a level the bigger challenges in your life will start to change too, so for example that job you don’t like and can’t see a way out of, once your energy starts to rise and you start to vibrate on a much higher level anything in your life that isn’t vibrating on that same level will start to fall away or change.

So perhaps a new work opportunity comes up, or the way you have to work changes which suits you much better, there are endless possibilities with this you just have to detach

from the need to know ‘how’ and watch for the synchronicities that will start to happen in your life.

So... Are you ready?

1) Write your list

2) Pick one thing

3) Change the way you do it to create more happiness.
